Getting "the selected gpt formatted disk contains a partition which is not of type 'partition basic data guid"

Hi:

I tried to clone Windows from a smaller drive to a larger drive using Macrium Reflect 8. The partitions from the smaller drive successfully made clones to the larger drive. Part of the larger drive was "unallocated", so I tried to do "New Simple Volume" but I get an error message that says "the selected gpt formatted disk contains a partition which is not of type 'partition basic data guid".

What is the problem? And how do I fix this?

Here is a screenshot of the drives/partitions. I am trying to fix the unallocated 1630.13GB partition.

Here is the error message I'm getting

Windows for home | Windows 10 | Files, folders, and storage

    1. Please run the V2 log collector and post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

    1. Boot to the BIOS > post images or share links displaying the settings for:

    Legacy

    UEFI native (without CSM)

    UEFI hybrid (with CSM)

The above steps run a log collector and scripts to collect data for troubleshooting.

When the results are viewed steps can be posted to troubleshoot the displayed images.

The log collector should have instructions for use.

The scripts should also have instructions.

The manual step is to boot to the BIOS and view the menu settings and post images or share links into this thread.

A System Reserved partition is indicative of a Legacy installation which occupies an MBR (Master Boot Record) style disk. So, the partitions on it are not of type "Partition_Basic_Data_GUID". Macrium apparently didn't care & followed your instructions to clone them to a GPT (GUID Partition Table) disk. But Disk Management is refusing to work with it. That's my theory. You should either do a UEFI clean install to the GPT disk or convert the source disk to GPT before cloning it.
