Thanks! I'll try editing the key.
file type corrupted?
I use WordPerfect, file type ".wpd" for documents. In a windows folder listing, all the wpd files have "OpenOffice.org 1.1 Text Document" as the "Type." The properties window shows the same as "Type of file", but it still shows WordPerfect 2020 as the "open with" program.
So, I can still open all my WordPerfect documents normally, but I'm uneasy about the "Type of file" conflict.
What's going on, and how can I correct this?

I am Dave, I will help you with this.
If you can double click a WPD file and it opens correctly, then that description of the file type is just an error, that file description is stored in a registry key and is nothing to worry about.
You could try searching the registry for the file description (OpenOffice.org 1.1 Text Document) and manually edit that value in the registry, or, re-installing Word Perfect may also reset that registry key.
