System restore taking over 10 hours

Hi. My Windows system restore is taking over 10 hours.

It seems to be stuck on restoring registry files, but hard drive light is still flashing like it's doing something.

How long do I wait? Before forcing shut down.

I have had a accounting program "Sage" on it and at some point after an update it lost all files and back ups going back 6 months. I thought I could recover the lost files and program.

Tried to restore the file folder with back ups but no success.

It's a work computer, so stressed I lost all the data

System restore has no impact on data files, only win settings/files

Presumably not using the built in win backup or any third party backup utility, all of which means at some stage you will lose data

Presumably also you sage version isn't a web based version?

You wait until the restore has completed, your computer has rebooted, and/or there is a message that the system restore has completed.
