Black Screen with cursor

Question

Hello,

tonight I install the 22H2 update all fine and turn off the PC, today I turn on and after the boot I get black screen with cursor blinking in the top left corner, what's happening?

From pc boot menu it's the same, I select the SSD disk and nothing happens...

Note: If I press shift + ctrl all the screen show me GRUB word many times... any idea how to fix it?

I already did all.. same error. To enter in safe mode I need to use a bootable USB

This command:

bootrec /fixboot

give me an: "Access denied" error

SSD disk is fine, looks like windows installation after upgrade to 22H2 crash.

any other idea?

Kindly try the following methods to fix the issue and you can skip a step that you have already tried:

1-Force the computer to shut down 2 times until you get windows Troubleshooting > Advanced Options:

A-Startup repair.

B-If you have a system restore point, perform a system restore.

C-If you installed any updates recently, uninstall it

D-Click on Command Prompt > Type this command and hit enter:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

sfc /scannow

Also try boot repair commands:

bootrec /scanos

bootrec /fixmbr

bootrec /fixboot

bootrec /rebuildbcd

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

chkdsk X: /f /r (Replace X with your system drive letter which is usually C)

2-If it did not help, start your computer in Safe Mode:

if you could log in with Safe Mode, open CMD as administrator > Type these commands and hit enter:

DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Once it finishes, type this command and hit enter:

sfc /scannow

Then, restart your computer and check to see if the issue has been fixed or not.

3-If it did not help, create a bootable USB of Windows 11 with a working PC and boot your computer with the USB:

On the installation window, click on repair and try the options provided in step 1.

After that, check if it fixed the issue or not.
