unable to access certain websites

I am unable to access certain websites on my pc, it just comes up with a screen saying 'this site can't be reached', I've checked the connection and the proxy and the firewall but when it comes to trying to run windows network diagnostics, it says 'An error has occurred while loading the troubleshooter' and when I go into the error details it says it's restricted.

I have tried it on different browsers but I'm having the same issue with all of them.

I found an answer to another post explaining what to do, so I completed everyhing it suggested but that didn't do anything for me I'm still having the same issues.

There's too many possibilities from ipv6 to 3rd party AntiVirus applications and much more. If the steps from Douglas do nothing (which I'd not be surprised if they failed to solve it lol) then I'm not sure what to tell you as its too involved and technical.

Really, it should work if you nuked the OS and clean installed and reset the router. The default to both of those and the reset/removal of all the applications, etc should fix it. Its a lot to go through however lol. You should try a private browser session and some other quick things before that however. But, if you spend too much time on it then a clean OS & router reset would probably have been faster with the bulk of that simply waiting for backups, downloading, usb creation, etc and doing other things while those happen. You could try a router reset first as well or try disabling ipv6 and see how that works - those are two more of the faster things to try.

Hi Louise246890, I am Paulo and I'd like to help.

Have you checked using another browser if you'll be able to access those websites? If you can, then it may only be due to an outdated browser cache. Try to delete the site data and see if it works.

If you're using Edge, go to Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies and site data > See all cookies and site data. Search the website, click the bin icon to remove it, and check if the issue is fixed.

If that didn't work, might as well clear them all by pressing Ctrl + Shift + Del on any browser.

If you're unable to access them as well using another browser, it could be due to a Firewall or caused by an antivirus blocking your access to those sites. Do you use any of that? Did you check them?

Hi, I've tried using different browsers and they all have the same issue, I've checked my firewall settings and all the browsers say they're allowed through, I've even tried blocking them through and then allowing them again but I'm still having the issues, I've also tried to access it whilst the firewall is turned off.

I've tried clearing the cache and that didn't do anything either.

Double check if you have tried these suggestions to fix the error

If none of it worked, have you checked other devices if they also have access to those websites?
