File permissions

Hello i have a problem where when i open a certain program is says vcruntime140.dll cant be found i found a method to fix it but i dont have file permissions the box is greyed my user is already administrator

    im trying to put the dll manually into the folder but i dont have permission nor can i give it to my self

    I tried that cause its the safest method but it doesnt work so ive been trying to put it in the SysWOW64 manually but i cant it says i dont permission and when i try to give myself permission the boxed are greyed out

    so when i open a program it says vcruntime140.dll could not be found i tried the vcredist install it didnt work. i downloaded the dll itself but i when i try to put it in the SysWOW64 folder it says i dont have permission and when i try to give myself permission all the boxes are grey

    Hi Daniel,

    I am Dave, I will help you with this.

    SysWOW64 is a highly protected system folder, if you are attempting to copy files like a dll into that folder it is not safe, and you would not know if the dll is clean and not injected with malware.

    For that error (vcruntime140.dll) you are getting.

    Click the link below, on that page is a multi-installer for the Visual C++ 2015, 2017 and 2019 redistributables.

    Please Note, regardless of whether your version of Windows 10 is 32bit or 64bit, you must download and install both the x86 and x64 versions, do not try to install the ARM64 version:

    Then, restart (not shut down) your PC.

    Hi Daniel,

    What's the method you're trying though? Please explain.

    You can get vcruntime140.dll from VC++ redist from Microsoft.
