Internal mic driver missing from windows laptop.

Today my internal laptop mic has stopped working. I noticed on zoom it didn't pick it up and when I checked the drivers on my laptop my internal mic driver is not present (with/without "show disabled drivers" being enabled). The microphone just seems to be gone from the system. It has previously stopped functioning before but I could always reboot the driver to get it working again, now it is just gone. I have reset my system multiple times and no luck. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? Also is there a way I can redownload it with first/third-party software, or windows update?

Hi Kevine_15, I'm Benedict. I'm here to help you.

Please try to perform a System Restore, to revert your system settings back to a point prior to system updates or changes that might have caused the said issue. See the steps here: https://support.microsoft.com/windows/use-syste...

If that doesn't help, try searching for latest audio driver or Realtek/audio controller driver and BIOS update from your PC's manufacturer support website. Download them, if any. Install the said driver first and if the issue still persists, try updating the BIOS by following the guide on how to install BIOS update from the said support website. If BIOS has been successfully updated and the issue still occurs, try installing the said driver again and see if that will now sort the issue out.

    Please see if that helps.

    Regards,

    Benedict P.
