Kernel power event 41 task 63

(Sorry for any spelling mistakes, English is not my mother language)

Hi!

On August 2021 I bought my new laptop : a 2021 ASUS TUF Dashf15, 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11370H @ 3.30GHz 3.30 GHz processor, 16,0 GB (15,7 GB usable) RAM, NVIDIA^^GeForce RTX™ 3070 GPU.

I was so happy with it, until 5 months ago when I started to experience random shutdowns.

The first time It happened, I was kind of worried since it was a brand new laptop, so I instantly started searching for solutions on the internet and I ended up updating a few drivers.

Everything was fine for like 2 months, but then it started to happen again once every two weeks, then it was once a week, now it is 2-3 times a week...

It happens every time, it doesn't matter what I am doing, playing video games, watching youtube...sometimes it happens even when I am just at the desktop doing nothing!!

The temps are normal, my drivers are updated and I don't know what else to do.

When I go to the event logger it appears :

-Kernel-Power 41 (63)

Since that didn't give me any info I went to custom views, admin events and scrolled through the errors until I found the events just before that event 41, and this shows up:

-volmgr 161

I honestly don't know what to do, I am so desperate!!!!

There are log collectors that can collect dump files and other files that are useful in troubleshooting.

In the earlier post I provided the links to run the V2 log collector.

Please change the default language to English so that the files can be scanned and read.

Before running the log collector please temporarily uninstall any third party antivirus software and use Microsoft Defender.

This is the link for the V2 log collector: https://www.tenforums.com/bsod-crashes-debugging/2198-bsod-posting-instructions.html

    Hi!

The warranty covers everything for 3 years, so If it is a hardware problem or else, it's covered, but I want to know first if its something I can or can't solve.

The problem is, I need my laptop for college so I can't go without it (I don't know if that makes sense, what I mean is that they will probably take some time to solve it and I can't be without my laptop cause I need it for every single class), that is why I am trying to solve it myself.

If I can't solve it, I will give the manufacturer support my laptop in the summer, but right now, I can't.

I contacted a lot of times the online manufacturers support, but they gave me really poor advice:

-Update the drivers (which I have already done)

-Make sure I don't have any pending Windows updates

-Backup my files and reinstall windows

-Take my laptop to the place I bought it with the warranty so they can fix it.

They didn't even ask me what type of error I was having or anything, they just gave me this kind of 'universal' solution that will solve almost every problem and that's it.

I am sorry but I don't know what you mean by V2 log collector, do you mean the Event viewer, or is it some sort of app I should download?

    Thank you!!

What is the warranty status for the computer?

What steps were provided by the computer manufacturer support?

Please change the default language to English so that the log files can be scanned and read.

Then run the V2 log collector and post a share link into this thread using one drive, drop box, or google drive.

    Hi TheCircus,

I'm Paul and I'm here to help you with your concern.

The Kernel-Power Event 41 is mostly caused by hardware or driver.

Can you check if Windows was able to create minidump or Memory.dmp files?

    1. Open Windows File Explorer
    2. Go to C:\Windows\Minidump for minidump files and C:\Windows fro Memory.dmp file
    3. Zip those files
    4. Upload the zip file to the Cloud (OneDrive, DropBox . . . etc.).
    5. Then share the link here.

If no dump file is available, kindly share the System logs.

    >> Open Event Viewer.

    >> Click Windows Logs.

    >> Right-click System.

    >> click "Save all events as"

    >> Select location, name the file, and click Save.

    >> select "Display Information for these languages ", click English and click OK.

    >> Upload the saved log file to OneDrive and share the link here.

    Thanks.
