I would like to report a bug I found that affects the Windows Date/Time clock in the taskbar.
This affects the following operating systems (that I've tested): Windows XP (SP3) x86, Windows 7 x64, Windows 10 x64, Windows 11 x64
How to duplicate the bug:
- Set Windows Region to: English (Canada)
- In "Additional settings..." under Date, then Date formats, change the "Short date" to the following format: ddd, MMMM d, yyyy
What happens?: For some unknown reason the date may completely disappear from the clock. (The time is still there)
By adding an additional "d" to the "ddd, MMMM d, yyyy" to make it "dddd, MMMM d, yyyy" the date will return, but the
day will be in full, i.e.: Monday instead of Mon.
The only workaround I have found to get around this bug is by changing the Region settings to: English (United States)
It is also important to note that this "Date" bug under English (Canada) has a mind of it's own. It is an intermittent issue that seems to come and go as it wants, despite setting the "ddd, MMMM d, yyyy" manually in the registry, without success.
Question: I don't know the proper reporting method to Microsoft. If someone could please help me with a URL, it would be greatly appreciated.
