my encrypt button is greyed out, I have tried the options given in other people's answers but it doesnt work. please check what is wrong i cant encrypt any of my files

Can you share us more about the encrypt button you're referring to? Also, let us know Windows edition you're on.

Could it be you file is located on FAT32 or exFAT formatted drive? Encryption function works only for NTFS drives.
