Problem with CMD.exe

Hi.
I got locked out of my Windows 10 PC awhile ago and had to use the method in this video to unlock it. https://youtu.be/itMECROHFQQ

It worked but I'm not sure whether it was my fault or not but my CMD is now broken, searching for it just gives me a blank icon.

When I try to run the command sfc /scannow on the main account, which is an adminstrator account this pops out.

The command only works on another account I made using that tutorial.

When I open cmd.exe from the windows folder this shows up.

Anyway I could fix this?

    Hello,

I am Sumit here to assist you with this question.

CMD.exe is not a standalone file - it requires DLLs, and some other executables to run. Probably some files that are required got modified in an unrecoverable way in recovering Windows.

This is why Microsoft does not recommend what the user did in the Video.

Please set up a PIN first so you do not get locked out as step 1.

    Second

Try doing a repair install. A repair Install keeps everything including Files and applications and reinstalls Windows.

The best and the easiest way is to use first method in the first article.
