Windows installation error

Hi, I’ve been trying to dual boot Windows 10 and Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit. I partitioned the hard drive to make space for Vista. Setup starts normally, but when it gets to “Expanding files…” it throws the following error:

Windows installation cannot continue because a required driver could not be installed

I don’t know what’s going on. Help would be appreciated!

Enrique

Alright, I'm on the Dell website. The "Storage" section of drivers shows 2 things:
    1) Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver

        2)Intel Rapid Storage Technology Application

    Nothing else.

Dell does not support of supply Windows Vista drivers for that model number.

They only supply drivers for Windows 10 and 11.

It'll probably be labeled as a storage controller driver on the Dell website, or something close to that. On the driver page for your service tag, I'd just search for the word "storage" and see if it finds the result you need.

Hi, right now I’m using a Dell OptiPlex 7080. I need to download a hard drive driver right?

You need a driver for your storage system (hard drive and hard drive controller subsystem), which you can only get from the company that built your computer. However if the computer was designed for Windows 10, it's unlikely they provide a driver that works with an OS from over a decade earlier, so it may or may not actually work.
