Virtual Disk Image Error

After my VirtualBox VM of Windows 7 became inaccessible, I deleted it and replaced it with another virtual machine, but used the same virtual disk image as the old one. However, after I deleted the old one, I realized that my virtual disk image was removed along with the virtual machine. I don't want to make a new image because I had a lot of stuff installed on the old disk image and I don't want to start over again. Is there any way I can recover my virtual disk image?

I assume that you meant that you intended to use the same virtual disk image in the new VM but inadvertently deleted the *.vhd file.

Because VHD files are almost certainly too large to go to the Recycle Bin, you probably clicked "Yes" to a message similar to this one:

If you haven't used the actual drive on which the *.vhd file was located since you deleted it (or used it very little), you may be able to recover the *.vhd file using a utility such as Recuva (https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva) or MiniTool Power Data Recovery (https://www.minitool.com/data-recovery-software/free-for-windows.html).
