Hello.I have two san disk usb sticks. One is extreme x64 3.0 (purchase year 2009) and ultra de luxe 256 GB(2020).For my ultra the default format was exfat but i changed it to NTFS.For older model i don't remember if i change it but is also in NTFS now(san disk told me that the original format is exFAT for usb sticks >64 GB).My issue is that when format th extreme x64 via windows appears as the only option NTFS and not exfat. For ultra de luxe appears both of them.San disk can't help me and suggest me to ask microsoft.I can format to exfat only using third party tools. Why for the older stick the exfat option isn't available? The usb works fine.I have windows 11

    Hi vasilisnikolo,

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

it is unusual for the exFAT format option to be missing on a drive >64GB, click your Start Button, then just type cmd and from the resulting list, right click Command Prompt and select 'Run as Administrator'

Run tis command (replace X with the correct drive letter) and wait for the process to complete.

    format X: /fs: exFAT

Then check if that USB flash drive is now formatted to exFAT.
