Windows 11 won't stay asleep - have already done a lot of troubleshooting!

I have a new Dell XPS 9520 running Windows 11 Home. It seems to me it isn't going to sleep or staying there. I make this assumption because when I put it to sleep, I still lose about 10% battery in 6 hours (which seems excessive), and the event viewer shows lots of things happening between the time I put it to sleep and woke it up. Shouldn't the event viewer show no activity at all, or am I misunderstanding this?

I have deactivated the lid switch in BIOS. I have made sure the LAN can't wake it through Device Manager. I have set it to go to sleep on battery after 10 minutes (so even if it wakes up, it should go back to sleep quickly). I check powercfg /lastwake and it says 0 events and powercfg - waketimers shows nothing.

Event Viewer showed Kernel-Power 506 (The system is entering Modern Standby. Reason: Power Button) when I last hit the button, but then the next event happens about a minute later. Over the next two hours, there were over 200 events, and then I see Kernel-Power 507 (The system is exiting Modern Standby. Reason: Power Button) when I did that.

In those 200 events, I see things like "The system is exiting Modern Standby" when I wasn't doing anything, and other Kernel-Power events. Attached is a screenshot (I put it to sleep with the power button at 1:07:57 and woke it at 3:14:25 - so why all the things in between)?

As I write this, am I misunderstanding what should and shouldn't be happening in sleep? My main concern is that I think I should be able to retain far more battery power far longer without having to do a complete shutdown.

    I found the answer to my own question here and in the other sections of that link:

    Apparently, I'm expecting my new computer to act like it's entering S3, but instead, the "Modern Standby" is quite different and a lot of activity can occur during that state. Furthermore, it solved another problem I had in that either connecting or disconnecting my USB-C hub and/or USB-C power source seemed to wake the computer, which that page describes as the expected activity.

    FWIW, my computer discharge from 100 to 94% in 12 hours overnight on battery in "sleep", which is probably acceptable
