Minecraft chat settings

Hello i need help with my account settings for minecraft, i have a microsoft account btw but for i can't chat in public minecraft servers and when i try to its says:'' chat not allowed by account settings. cannot send messages.'' how do i change this?

    Hi, I am Van. I'll be glad to assist you today.

    Kindly check your Xbox privacy setting's communication option is set for everyone. Please follow the steps below

    1. log in your Microsoft account to xbox.com
    2. Once signed in click your profile picture at the upper-right corner. Then select Xbox profile.
    3. In the Xbox profile click the privacy settings
    4. In the Privacy tab set the "Others can communicate with voice, text or invites" option to everyone.
    5. Click the submit button at the bottom of the page to save the settings.
    6. Relaunch the game and check if you can now chat with other players in the game.

    i have java edition and the problem only comes on public servers

    Your account was migrated from Mojang to a Microsoft account? What is the version of your java edition Minecraft game? Ideally, you should have the latest version of the game installed. Would you know if other people on these public servers can use the chat normally?
