My windows update has been stuck with this error since 2019. "There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80080005)"

Ive tried the troubleshooter and it says its fixed problems each time but then it still gives me the error when I try look for updates afterwards. It also displays "Your device is missing important security and quality fixes." in red text.

Is there a fix?

    Hi Jonny

Click the link below, then click 'Update Now' on that page to download the Update Assistant, then run that to immediately get 21h2 and bring your PC right up to date

    Hi Dave,

It says I am running Version 1903 (OS Build 18362.295).

When I go to windows update I cant see whats pending, I just get the error message after I check for updates and then an option to retry:

    Error encountered

Your device is missing important security and quality fixes.

There were some problems installing updates, but we’ll try again later. If you keep seeing this and want to search the web or contact support for information, this may help: (0x80080005).

Clicking on 'View update history" or "Advanced options" also just freezes the page.
