Hi everyone this is gonna be a bit of a lengthy post so stay with me. It has been 1 month since my laptop backscreens, I had upgraded to win 11 3 weeks before the black screen and had no other problems. during the first couple of days the black screen was there for 10 mins or so and everything went back to normal then the duration started increasing. sometimes like very rarely when my laptop had been on for like 10 hours straight or so it comes back to normal(very rarely even when I keep it on hibernate) but the task bar is missing.

what I mean by black screen is that after logging in to win 11 the desktop and task bar is replaced with 1 black screen. I can open programs with task manager and opening a folder takes likes 5 mins as it wont respond for that long after typing it in taskmanager. when going in to safe mod the taskbar is still not present but everything else is back to normal. I also cant open setting when I am not in safe mode as it lists an error.

I have tried like a billion different things short of resetting and would love some help with this issue. Also Before this error happened I had problems updating some ms store downloaded apps like spotify it would say acquiring license forever. It got to the point where all ms store apps with updates were unusable. Volume control key dont work as well. I have also done an update while the error was present.

Sorry for the long post,

any help is welcome

this is what my screen looks like

If you're getting an error that your password or username isn't correct (but I know it is correct) how can you do any troubleshooting? All of the advanced options are requiring a password except for startup settings. Any button I choose in startup doesn't actually make any changes (won't boot in safe mode etc).

    Hi Ashen

I am Dave, I will help you with this.

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

    Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt... etc.

Please try each option one at a time, then see of Windows will boot correctly. #

If there is the option to remove the latest update, that will be best

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Repair

See if Windows startup can repair itself

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - System Restore

Check to see if you have a restore point you can go back to
