bddci.sys error Blue Screen

Hello,

Recently, the blue screen of dead started to occur on my laptop. The error was bddci.sys. As far as I know this is the file from BitDefender and thus any forum suggest to uninstall BitDefender on the laptop. However, I could not find it on Programs/Control Panel or C disk. My laptop also updated to the latest version. I am at Window 10.

Then How can I fix this issue?

Thank you, Huy Nguyen.

Please run bcdedit /enum command. It will show the letter of Windows disk. Then type this letter with a colon and press enter. Then type commands one by one:

cd \System32\drivers

del bddci.sys

Check a deletion with

dir bd*.*

command.

    Hi Huy,

It is possible Bitdefender was deleted already but not fully. Please run Task manager, go to Services tab, stop all Bitdefender services you can find. Then delete bddci.sys file from C:\System32\drivers folder.

    Hello Igor,

Thank you for your reply. I did what you said and currently, there is no bitdefender operation in the services of task manager. And then, when I was trying to delete the bddci.sys, it showed "The action can't be completed because the file is open in another program".

    How can I tackle this?
