VS 16.10.1 and Xamarin

Question

I have recently upgraded VS (on windows) from16.6ish to 16.10.1.
I am able to compile in AppStore (release) mode and VS is not giving any build errors and is creating the IPA file without any issues.
After doing so, I'm getting an itms-90171 Invalid Bundle Structure can't contain Standalone Executables, and it's citing realm-wrappers as being the problematic item.

Realm has been part of this project in the previous builds, which was done on an earlier version of VS.
I didn't update Realm before doing the current build. I've tried since though. I've upgraded all the way to 10.1.4 and downgraded to 10.0.1 and I get the same response each time.

I'm baffled as to what to try to get this past the App Validation by Transporter and get our apps into the store...
any assistance would be appreciated..
