Windows 10 Boot Loop During Installation

Anonymous

I am trying to do a clean installation with a bootable USB. As soon as it starts loading and the windows logo appears for like 2 seconds, the PC will reboot.

What I have tried:

  • UEFI boot
  • Legacy boot
  • Different editions of Windows 10 (Pro, Enterprise)
  • Using a different hard drive
  • Clean install Windows 10 on another PC (deleting all partitions), then swap the hard disk back, but it still reboots after briefly showing the windows logo.

Hardware specs:

  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 1700X
  • GPU: nVidia GTX 970
  • Motherboard: GIGABYTE AB350M-DS3H
  • 16 GB RAM

Please note I was unable to enter Windows Startup Repair as it will crash and reboot before it finishes loading. I can also install Window 7, and 8.1 without any issues.

Edit: I downloaded an older version which worked. So it's definitely something wrong with the installation files. Microsoft, you need to fix your latest builds!

You mentioned that you downloaded an older version that worked, does that mean you were able to finish installing Windows?

    Which version did you install?

"Try creating using the ISO option, then use the Rufus tool to create the USB" - I have been doing exactly that.

BTW, when I first used media creation tool to upgrade from Windows 7, after reboot it showed an error of "Safe_OS Phase Errors".

    Thank you for the informations.

Did you create the USB using MS MCT creation tool?

Try creating using the ISO option, then use the Rufus tool to create the USB and see if the same problem occurs.

In the thread that share it shows how to do this.

Or if you prefer, just try updating the installation you made with an older version to the latest version available.

Just use the update tool below.
