screen problems

does anyone one know what the problem is with the screen? lasts for a few minutes, then goes back to normal. it happens often. would appreciate any suggestions to fix this thanks

    thanks for your response. somehow my computer hasn't had the problem since posting my question. haven't shut it down as i was leery of what might happen upon start up. again thank you for your assistance.

    We can't tell if it hardware or software from here.

    You can use the power button to restart your computer three times. This will start the Windows Recovery Environment.

    Thanks, i just tried to start my computer and it's just a white screen. Probably going to restart it again. Which do you think it is, hardware or software? Thanks

    It would appear to be corrupted graphics drivers, or failing graphics hardware.

    But it could also be anywhere along this path:

    Monitor > Cable > Port on Computer > which is either connected to a Graphics Card in a slot on the Motherboard or to Onboard Graphics Hardware which is part of the Motherboard.
