Bring back the quick device dropdown on the taskbar for audio settings!

With Windows 10, I was able to simply go to my taskbar sound settings and quickly change the audio source with a simple drop down. I didn't realize how much I used this feature until I upgraded to Windows 11. I frequently switch between my gamming headset and desktop speakers. With Windows 11, I have to open a new window to change my audio sources, and sometimes that window is annoying if I miss the radio button to change the source and it brings me into the source settings.

If anyone has any suggestions to make this simple again, I'd love to hear from you. I'm considering going back to win10 or changing OS. I mostly just game on my PC, so the other features (good or bad) don't really apply to me.

I#ve moved to the Windows 11 insider program (beta branch) and now see that this feature is back already:

This button brings up the list of audio devices without opening the settings windows.

    Well done, case closed.

I'll back this. @MS: Please bring it back to the task bar, maybe even as optional widget such as VPN, Night mode etc.

I use my PC mainly professionally. And it bothers me to always enter settings to switch between headset, conference audio system and music sound system. Sometimes even quickly upon an unexpected call. Really a major UX downgrade in my eyes.

    Thanks.
