I have a user trying to burn files onto a CD-R. She gets the H:\ is not accessible. States location is not available. The parameter is incorrect.

I have tried fixing permissions and when using my administrator profile, I am able to access and burn to it.

Ideas?

    Hi JessicaMM_004,

Yes, you may also double-check the issue using the built-in admin account

    1. On your search bar, type command prompt and select "run as administrator"
    2. On the command prompt window, type net user administrator /active:yes and press Enter
    3. Reboot your machine, then login to the built-in admin account, and check if you'll encounter the same issue.

Note: If you don't encounter the issue on the built-in administrator account, kindly proceed in creating a new account using the methods on the article that I've provided on my previous reply

Hoping for your feedback. Thank you.

It's the CD Rom drive, not an actual hard drive she is trying to use. I gave her permissions/ownership and she still has the issue. This is on a domain-controlled profile. Do you suggest I make her a new profile?

    Thanks for the reply.

The Windows registry will have per user stuff. Could be an issue with the user in that way since your admin one works. At least to me this makes the most sense here as Raniel suggests as well.

Might be something else with the user but narrowing that down might be a lesson in futility.

Good day! I'm Raniel, a Microsoft user like you. I understand your frustration regarding this issue and I'll do my best to help.

Just to clarify, have you also tried to take ownership of the drive, then check again? Kindly refer to the steps on these articles as guides:

    https://www.isumsoft.com/windows-10/take-owners...

    https://www.windowscentral.com/how-take-ownersh...

If that didn't work, since you were able to isolate the issue using the administrator account, I suggest that you create a new user account and copy the files to the new account(go through the steps under "My computer is in a workgroup") . Please refer to this article as a guide: https://support.microsoft.com/help/14039/window...

I hope this helps. Good luck!
