Internal microphone problems . . .

Anonymous
2022-01-16T21:36:06+00:00

My computer, is a Dell laptop.
Running, Windows 10.

I want to, raise the sensitivity.
Of the, internal microphone.

These are the, Microsoft instructions:

To change the mic sensitivity in Windows.
You'll have to go into the device settings,
for your microphone.

Go to Settings > System > Sound.
Under Input, make sure the mic is selected.

Then click, Device Properties.
Select Additional device properties.

In the, levels tab. Increase or decrease,
the Microphone (sensitivity).
It was set at, 100%

I clicked on: Start test: And, the results were:
The highest value, seen. Was, 1 percent.
Does 1 percent, mean. Something, is wrong?

There is no, graphic level display?
To say, "hello", "hello", "testing".
To see, how high it goes?

Is their, any way. To get a, graphic display.
To see, the level? Would I be able, to raise it?
I sure, hope so!

Is there any, 3rd party application.
I could download, and install. That would, do it?

Thanks for reading . . . Jerry

    Hi Jerry_Dwyer -

Thank you for the detailed response. I see, if that's the case then let's try to perform other troubleshooting steps.

Go to your OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) website

    1. Open run-box by pressing windows key + R, type msinfo32 and hit enter.
    2. Look for your System Model and System Manufacturer, take note of them.
    3. Go to your OEM website and search for your driver using the information that you noted.
    4. Download and install the driver, restart your computer and check if the issue still persist.
