How to install Microsoft Microphone Array
I use an HP 1040 G5 with Windows 11 installed on it. I was having microphone issues and then uninstalled the microphone array driver. I have been trying to install the driver back, and it can't find it anywhere. I have used the HP Assistant to scan my system, but it does not seem to find a problem with my input audio despite it not having a driver. I have restarted my system and also checked for Windows updates, but nothing seems to be working. Please, how can i solve this,
as the only way my system microphone work is with a headset or earpiece

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad to hear that the microphone array issue you encountered on the HP 1040 G5 has been successfully resolved!
The solution you provided, which involves adjusting the microphone settings via mmsys.cpl, is indeed crucial for ensuring the microphone functions properly and optimizing audio output. These steps are essential for:
Setting the microphone as the default device: Ensuring that the system and applications know which microphone to use for input.
Adjusting microphone volume and enhancement: Optimizing the microphone's input sensitivity to clearly capture sound.
While the driver is the foundation for the microphone being recognized by the system, once the driver is in place (whether through system auto-detection, previous operations, or other background processes), the configuration steps you performed via mmsys.cpl become crucial to making the microphone truly usable and achieving optimal performance.
If you encounter any other issues in the future, please feel free to contact us.
