The mouse drag-and-drop function is not working. What can I do?

Sometimes I am unable to drag a file and drop it into a folder using my mouse. The file being dragged does not move as the cursor moves. Rebooting my laptop can fix this issue, which is recurrent. Is there any way to fix it other than rebooting?

    Hello nick chen,

Probably it happens because some other application is conflicting with Drag&Drop function.

Please open Control Panel (right click on Start -> select "Run", type "control" in the Run window -> select "Programs" -> Programs and Features.

And share screenshots with the programs you have installed on your PC here so I can analyze.

    I found a solution.

    System process not fully exited

    • Solution: Try pressing the ESC key twice at the top-left corner of the computer. This may reset certain system processes, thereby restoring the mouse’s drag function.
