A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
Hey Himansu, Don’t worry, this happens more often than you’d think. If you’ve lost your phone or can’t access the Microsoft Authenticator app, and now you’re locked out of Azure DevOps, here’s what you can try:
1. Check for backup options during login On the sign-in screen, click on “Use a different verification option”. If you had added a backup email or phone number earlier, it might still help you get in.
2. If this is a work or school account Reach out to your IT admin or Azure AD administrator. They can reset your MFA (multi-factor authentication) and help you sign in from a new device.
3. Use Microsoft’s recovery page Go to https://aka.ms/MFASetup Click on “Can’t access your account?”, choose “Work or school account”, and follow the steps to verify your identity. If successful, it will guide you to set up MFA again.
4. Still locked out? Contact Microsoft Support Create a support ticket here: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/create-ticket/ Mention clearly that you’ve lost access to your Authenticator device and can’t log in. They’ll guide you through account recovery.
Once you're back in Visit https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info and set up a backup phone number, alternate email, and possibly even Authenticator on a second device to prevent future issues.
Hope this helps you get back on track.
