Using file explorer in the Start Menu produces C++ Runtime Library error

I put a file explorer folder in my start menu, but every time I click on it, I get a C++ runtime library window that pops up. The error doesn't show up in Event Viewer, so it's difficult to pinpoint where the issue is coming from.

Using a pinned file explorer folder or shortcut on the desktop does not produce the error. Only the small icon that is made from Settings > Personalization > Start > Folders causes the issue. Not sure how to fix this as it's incredibly annoying.

    Hello,

Are you using any tools to customize the Start menu or taskbar?

If so, try uninstalling them first.

If not, start with a clean boot. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, consider downloading a repair version via Windows Update and using it to repair Windows.
