Hi Team,

I'm working on a case where client requested the following requirement, whenever a user opens any document then by default it should open in Read only mode.

Word document is opening in Read only mode by default, but when i'm opening excel file its opening in Editing mode (attached below).

So is there any way we can set any document mode to read only in MS Teams by default.

    Hello Mayuresh,

At the moment, there is still a request for this feature at Teams UserVoice where you can still share your idea and vote. https://microsoftteams.uservoice.com/forums/555...

Your vote will be very helpful for Teams to improve its product.

    Cheers,

    Didi

    Hi Didi,

Thanks for the reference, but it won't help, i'm also aware of these steps.

But client is having lots of files and teams groups. Also new groups are getting daily and owners of these group won't be able to do these steps as client dont want them to manage this.

I was looking at a Teams admin level setting or configuration which will be applicable to all documents of all new/old groups by default.

    Regards

    Mayuresh
