Error adding guests to Teams

Hi there

I have managed to add a few external users to my Teams channel but unfortunately, I cannot add other persons as guests. The persons are all from the same agency but in different markets.

I type in their email and it says 'cannot find user in Teams' (something along those lines) when in fact, they have a Teams account. I follow the instructions "add member" and I'm asked to type in an email address.

To add, in one particular market, I've managed to add one member but the other member doesn't show up either.

I don't know how to get them to show up.

Could you please support?

    Hi Billie Rimell,

For your situations may be caused by the permisson configuration, please kindly check these steps below to get guest access in your organization:

    • Turn on guest access at the Teams org-wide level

Go to Teams Admin Center, click Org-wide settings > Guest access, make sure the turn on "Allow guest access in Teams"

    • Configure Azure AD business-to-business settings

Sign in to the Azure portal with your admin account. Go to Azure Active Directory > Users > User settings, under External users, select Manage external collaboration settings. On the External collaboration settings page, choose the policies you want to enable.

    • Configure O365 Groups

In the Microsoft 365 admin center, go to Settings > Services & Add-ins > Office 365 Groups. Make sure Let group members outside the organization access group content is set to On. If this setting is turned off, guests won't be able to access any group content. Make sure Let group owners add people outside the organization to groups is set to On. If this setting is turned off, Team owners won't be able to add new guests. At a minimum, this setting must be On to support guest access.

Note: It can take up to 24 hours for the above changes to take effect in Office 365.

    Best Regards,

    Shawn
