Teams background scrolling

Hello All,

I use a corporate account for Teams. (v 1.3.00.362) Recently, (month or two?) I noticed that the panel for background settings doesn't scroll. There is no scroll bar and it doesn't respond to the mouse wheel. I've changed the size, rebooted, updated, etc. I have not deleted Teams and re-installed.

I can select a background setting. Once I do, I can use the arrow keys to move up and down so that the one I want is visible and I can select it. It changes, everything is fine, other than it's a pain.

The only thing I can think of is that I have too many backgrounds. However, I removed all my backgrounds from the Uploads folder and it's still a problem.

Has anyone else seen this? Any suggestions?

Thank you,

Chuck

Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

Could you please follow these steps below to reset MS Teams app :

• Close
Microsoft Teams
(Check out if it appears in the Windows toolbar and closes it).
• Copy and paste the following path Windows File Explorer:

%appdata%\Microsoft\Teams

• Delete all contents in that folder > Re-start Microsoft Teams
• Sign in

However, if the problem still persists then please reinstall MS Teams Desktop app by downloading the app from the following link:

Hello Daniel,

Thank you for your help. It worked and it didn't. Here are my comments for posterity, in case others have the problem.

"Could you please follow these steps below to reset MS Teams app : "

1. Close
Microsoft Teams
(Check out if it appears in the Windows toolbar and closes it).
1. This was a little harder to do than it seems.
2. I had the setting "On close, keep the application running" checked. That meant I had to go to the system tray and quit Teams there, too.
2. Copy and paste the following path Windows File Explorer: %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams
3. Delete all contents in that folder
1. I took a chance that you meant everything! and deleted everything.
2. I had to close other apps because of add-ins being used.
3. Luckily, I had taken all of my own backgrounds out of the Backgrounds > Uploads folder or I would have lost them.
4. Re-start Microsoft Teams
1. I did this and it brought me back to "raw" Teams.
2. I started to join a meeting.
3. It opened in the same window (remember "raw" Teams)
4. Went to add a background and voila! the panel scrolled like an Infinidungeon. Nice.
5. The scroll button (?) didn't go all the way to the bottom of the scroll bar, but it showed me all the backgrounds. I just threw back another swig of egg nog and all was good.
5. Sign in
1. I did not have to sign in.
6. And now ... the rest of the story.
7. I checked for updates just in case.
8. I went into settings and customized. (Here's where it gets good.)
9. The interesting bits are the following
1. I unchecked "On close, keep the application running"
2. I checked "Turn on new meeting experience"
3. I quit and restarted Teams
4. I joined a meeting.
5. It opened in a new window.
6. Added a background and <sigh> no scrolling
7. Back to settings to uncheck "Turn on new meeting experience"
8. It's a story, but not one for here. Let's just say that keeping it unchecked was the hardest thing to do in this whole process even though "On close, keep the application running" was unchecked.
9. Once I got it to stick, the scroll bar was back.
10. So, it would seem that Fr. Brown's Case of the Missing Scrollbar wasn't fixed, but it was solved.
1. New meeting experience means meeting opens in new window and no scroll bar on the background settings.
11. I think there's an unintended feature in the "new meeting experience". I'm sure there's a way to report it. I'll look into it (a little bit)

Thank you again for your help.

Chuck
