Filter function isn't working in SharePoint lists

We have multiple SharePoint lists, ranging from about 45 to 2,500 items that we access almost exclusively through Microsoft Teams. We filter these many times a day to locate the entry that we need. As of about a month ago this function stopped working in the desktop app, mobile view, web browser, and in actual SharePoint. When we click "Filter By" the filter panel comes up, but the drop-down that usually shows the matching items does nothing. I've attached an example below. You can clearly see that two of the entries begin with the last name "Abel", but when I type that, nothing comes up in the drop-down. Also, if I click on the checkbox next to that entry in the filter panel, it doesn't open. We have to sort the entire list A-Z, then scroll, wait to load, scroll, wait to load, etc. until we find the entry we need.

We also have separate, smaller lists (250 items) that are also having this issue.

This issue is happening on all of our computers. I've tried deleting and reinstalling Teams, deleting both the Teams and Chrome caches, adding indexes to the columns, and I've had our IT department look into it, to no avail.

What can we do to fix this, as it's impeding out ability to work?

    Hi Kate Shalap:

    Thanks for coming back.

For Microsoft 365 for business of enterprise, only administrative users can raise a service raise a service request in Microsoft 365 admin center, because some settings such as group policies require administrator rights to be implemented.

Therefore, please wait patiently and thank you for your understanding.

I tried to contact Support as you suggested and it just comes up with my own IT company's contact information. I have already tried to get support through them. How do I contact IT at Microsoft?

    Thank you.
