Teams update loop after upgrading to Windows 11

My laptop updated to Windows 11 last week and ever since my Teams will not work.

I am still working from home on my personal laptop and in Windows 10, I had a Teams instance that I connected to with my work email. This Teams originally came through my office's Office 365 implementation.

After my computer updated, I attempted to open Teams as I had in the past and it gave me the following message:

When I click on the Update Teams button, it takes me to https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-teams/download-app. On that page, I choose Teams for work or school (I work for a university). It downloads Teams_windows_x64.exe. When I open that file, it shows that it is installing Teams and then shows me the same Teams needs to be updated screen as above.

What can I do to escape this loop and install a version of Teams for work that will work on a Windows 11 laptop? The browser version is not adequate for my needs - it frequently fails to deliver my messages or alert me when someone is messaging me.

    Hi, kyla,

My name is Didi. I'm happy to help you today.

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. If you've already installed Teams, you may try clearing the Teams cache using the instructions in the link below and see if there's any difference.
