Yes, the image above is what the shift looked like but when I hit the delete button it will not delete. Is there another way to delete it?

I created a schedule for our team. I entered the times into the time slots. I noticed for one of them there is additional slots at the bottom because I entered vacation time but then deleted it due to an error. How do I get rid of this.

Based on your update, we have add additional request (such as taking leave) in particular day and after approval, deleted it and found the same result as yours (screenshot for reference). If this is your concern, seems at this moment deleted shift will visible in this manner.

I apologize for the late response. I still was unable to delete the extra shift for that day. I re worked my steps and what may have occurred was during our testing phase that shift was published and then deleted. Upon re establishing the schedule it took on what was deleted. I just ended up leaving it as be as it became time consuming trying to figure out how to fix it. Has there been solution to delete an approved additional shifts for a particular day such as someone taking leave ?

Regarding your issue, suggest you to kindly login to Teams web app and check if additional slot is visible there or not. If Teams web app side has no issue, suggest you to restart Teams application and then check the result. It should be sync issue.
If Teams web app side has the same issue, we need to narrow down the issue and for that, we request you to kindly provide us details information about how have set shift, add vacation time and delete it. So we can help to check further. Your co-operation will be highly appricated.
