Hi!

I have a old 2010 Sharepoint Server, with SP1 and CU for August 2012. It states that several of the dabases are in compatibility mode, and that three content databases and the Web_sharepoint_configuration database is 'too new and is not supported'. I am trying to run the Sharepoint Migration Assesment Tool, but that fails to start. I am suspecting it is related to those errors.

I have run the Sharepoint product configuration wizard to see it it could sort it out, but to no avail. And i found another post on the net where they had fixed a similar issue by changing the versioning for the databases in SQL. I have tried that as well, but i didnt get that to work.

Under Central management it also says that the Configuration database version is 14.0.7132.5000, whilst i think the CU level installed is 14.0.6126.5001

If i check the local upgrade status with 'stsadm.exe -o localupgradestatus' i get this:

<objects>
<object>
<name>Web_SharePoint_Configuration</name>
<type>Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration.SPConfigurationDatabase</type>
<level>0</level>
<status>Cannot Upgrade</status>
</object>
</objects>

Can anyone nudge me in the right direction for a resolve to this, please?

    Hi @brandsen

    Any message appeared when you failed to start SharePoint Migration Assesment Tool? Do you mean your database was a higher version than your SharePoint farm?. Per my knowledge, database must be set to older or same version of the server. You could try to update your SharePoint 2010 CU.
