Teams dramatically slows SSMS/SQL Server performance

Whilst I've not narrowed it down there seems to be an issue when running Teams and SQL Server Express locally on the same machine

Teams works OK but SQL server all but locks up, Quit Teams and the same query is pretty much instant

Has anyone else experienced this sort of behaviour ? We have it happening on several machines here

    Hi MiniEgsEater

    Greetings

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

You may check the SQL performance by following instructions in Performance Dashboard - SQL Server | Microsoft Docs .

Does this occur when using Teams on the web too? Kindly confirm by visiting https://teams.microsoft.com

Lastly you may clear Teams cache:

#Quit Teams completely, by right clicking on the teams icon then select quit.

Open File Explorer on your computer

    Go to C: >Users >your username> AppData> Roaming>Microsoft, once there look for Microsoft Teams

Select and delete all the folders in that directory.

    Kind Regards,

    Momo
