I'm currently writing up an academic paper in which I want to reference Microsoft Teams and want to clarify if I need to add a trademark symbol in the text. For example, do I refer to it as Microsoft Teams, Microsoft® Teams, or other? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I'm Celso, Independent Advisor. Happy to be able to help you today!

Do I need to use registered ®️ or trademark ™️ symbols when I refer to a Microsoft trademark in my app? And must I, when using a Microsoft trademark, place a trademark attribution notice in my app, for example, "Microsoft is a registered trademark of the Microsoft Corporation"?

ANSWER: There is no legal requirement that you include these symbols or the attribution notice, but Microsoft would greatly appreciate it if you do.
