Excel File refreshing Issues

Hi,

While updating Excel Files in Teams, some users are getting the error message: "Upload Failed, problem refreshing. Your changes were saved but could not be uploaded because this file could not be refreshed with updates from the server".

Does anyone have any clue why is this happening and how to resolve it.

Thanks.

    Hi Mahzabeen,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this issue.

Firstly, I would suggest you follow the below basic troubleshooting to avoid common issues due to app cache:

    1. Manually restart the app by right-clicking the icon in your taskbar (Windows) and selecting Quit.
    2. Go to File Explorer, delete any of the files in the following locations:

    • %AppData%\Microsoft\teams

    1. Click the app icon to open it again.

Besides, you could access the 'Teams Web App' https//teams.microsoft.com, use "Use the web app instead" option to open teams in a browser and check the outcome. It will help to isolate the issue with the desktop app.

    Regards

    Nik

That rules out one common cause of this issue. I will look into this further and get back to you.

Hi, my name is Joe, and I am an Independent Advisor. I hope that I will be able to provide some assistance to you today.

Before we try anything else, do the files in question happen to be password protected?

I look forward to your response.

    Warm regards,

    Joe
