Class materials folder not visible when looking to share a powerpoint in a meeting (lesson)

Hi,

I'm using Teams Desktop app on Windows 10. My department usually put their powerpoint for the Class in Class Materials, so that the students can review it later on. However, when they want to use that powerpoint during the online lesson, they click Share, then Browse, then Teams - the General folder is on offer, but when they enter it, the Class Materials folder does not appear.  All the class (team) have view rights to that folder, so that shouldn't happen. Is there something we can change, is it intentional (so why?) or is it a glitch?

Thanks,

T

    Hi,

One of our teachers is having this issue too. They cannot share files from the Class Materials folder while in a meeting. The workaround will not work as they do not want the student to edit the file.

Please suggest what we should do

    Thanks

    Em

Thank you for that workaround. Unfortunately that creates a file which pupils can also edit and they can therefore make alterations to the PowerPoint. Is there a way of having the matter raised to the technical teams? It should surely be possible to screen share materials that are in the class materials folder with that class. Thanks, Tom

    Hi Tom N RC,

Welcome to our forum community. Thank you for the posting in our forum community.

Based on the description, we have tested and observed such thing from our end, so we would like to recommend you to kindly make one new folder under Files tab in team’s General channel and kindly upload PowerPoint document under that newly created folder, after that try to see the result about “Share a PowerPoint” in team meeting.

For creating new folder under team’s General channel > click your team > click on General Channel > under Files tab > click on (+) New option > select Folder option, create a new folder and upload PowerPoint document in this newly created folder.

If you need any further help or information, kindly feel free to contact us and provide us some updated information so we can further assist you accordingly.

    Regards,

    Darpan
