    Hi

My name is Daniel. I am an Independent Advisor.

There are a few reasons why you don't have the options to blur or customize the background:

    • Your device isn't supported yet. Please refer to the hardware requirement page: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams...
    • If you are trying to join a meeting as an attendee, it's possible this option may have been disabled by the admin of the inviter's organization:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoftteams...
    • Linux users aren't able to use this feature.
    • The optional Background video effects are not supported on processors without an AVX2 instruction set running on Windows 8.1 or below.
    • Background effects won't be available to you if you're using Teams through optimized virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).

Having said that, if you are still unable to customize your background, there's a workaround you can try. In this case, you can use OBS as a virtual camera for MS Team. Please follow these steps below:

Step 1: Configure OBS as a virtual camera for MS Team:

You can download the OBS NDI plugin at the following link below:

    https://github.com/Palakis/obs-ndi/releases/

Step 2: Customize the background using OBS:

    https://www.obs.live/articles/2020/3/5/how-to-c...

You can also make a transparent background on OBS (assuming your hardware support it).

There are other additional benefits of using this method, you can customize your appearance in OBS software such as flipping images, create transition effects, create running text on the video screen etc which will enhance your presentation.
