Microsoft Teams Email Hyperlinks

I have been building out the Wiki section of Microsoft Teams for my company to use as a training guide for new hires. In the past, when I would type in an email, it would automatically convert to a hyperlink, that when clicked, opened up a new email in Outlook. All of the past hyperlinks are there, but when I now type in an email, it doesn't convert to a hyperlink, nor have I figured out how to get it to. Does anyone have a solution?

Hi Plats001,

Thanks for your answer and screenshot.

I have tested your issue, and according to my tests, the behavior you described is the expected in Teams desktop client and Teams on Web (in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome). However, if you try to post email address or send it via Chat using Teams on Web in Microsoft Internet Explorer browser, the address will be sent/posted as a hyperlink. So this would be the suggestion for your issue in this moment. But if you don't find this solution useful, I'd like to suggest you to share your concerns via Microsoft UserVoice. This way, you will make our engineers aware of your idea. Microsoft appreciate users opinion and every sugestion will be consernd.

Thanks for understanding.

Regards,

Nemanja

Hi, sorry for the late response. No, I'm talking about emails within the Teams Wiki. When I typed an email in the past, it would automatically turn into a hyperlink, so people could click on it and it would open up a new email in Outlook for them. Now it just remains text.

    Hello Plats001,

If you are saying copy the wiki section link from Teams to an email in Outlook client? If not, please share some screenshots or the detailed reproduce steps with us for further checking.

If so, based on my checking, it works on our lab with the Outlook client (1808 Build 10730.20264) in Semi-annual Channel Targeted.

Can you please share your Outlook client with us? Go to File > Office Account > About Outlook.

    Regards,

    Rudy
