Counting/sum files

In Microsoft Teams we archive documents in personal maps. I found the formula to count the number documents in the personal maps.

I have two problems.

Problem 1>  If I want to export the information I see in Teams I open Share point. I choose export to Excel.

The numbers in the BLUE column are the calculated number of files in a personal map.

In Excel I can't work with the numbers as shown in the BLUE column, looks like he sees the number as text. The other columns (just manual input) I can work with.

Problem  2> I want the SUM of the number in the column (BLUE) .  I can only choose COUNT and not SUM for this calculated column in Sharepoint.

Hi Ed van der Pas,

Thanks for posting in the community.

For your concern:

  1. According to the first screenshot, I assume you edit the column and show the Item Child Count/Folder Child Count column. If so, yes, when you export the view to Excel, the cell format of the Item Child Count/Folder Child Count column is Text. It is expected behavior. You can click the Home tab, in the Number part, manually change the format to Number.

  1. According to the second screenshot, I assume you edit the library view and edit the Totals of the Item Child Count/Folder Child Count column. I am afraid, for the two columns, you can only select the Count function in the Totals option. If you want to see the sum of items of the library, you can select Site contents, you will see the item number under the Items column.

Also, if you have any ideas or suggestions for the two columns, since we have a specific channel UserVoice community for us to hear customers' voices and improve our products, you can post your suggestion there.

If you have any updates or concerns, please feel free and come back to share with us.

Regards,

George
