How do I stop notifications on file changes

I have my students collaboratively working on documents that I upload to their channel. I get an email notification each time a comment is left on the file, resulting in 100's of emails a week. I have changed every notification I an find to banner only but this hasn't stopped the email alerts. I'd love some direction on how to change this. Thank you!

    Hi Ange_b,

I'm Nik, an independent advisor here to assist you with this.

I am afraid that the email notifications are sent from office 365 rather ms teams, so any changes to teams notifications settings will not help.
I found a UserVoice on the same issue:

Please note that when you upload a document in channel, it get saved to a SharePoint library. I suspect that it creates an alert to the document in SharePoint.

    Regards
    Nik
