Leaving a Breakout room and leaving the meeting

Hi,

I was in a meeting and created breakout rooms. I went into one breakout room and when I tried to leave, the only option seemed to be to leave the meeting. There was no button to leave the room. So I had no choice but to remove myself from the meeting and then couldnt close the Breakout rooms.

Is this an error on my part or a technical problem?

Thanks for your clarification.

According to my test, when you join a breakout room, Teams will pop up a new window for this room. So, you can click the ‘leave’ button in the upper right corner of the meeting room window to leave the meeting room and return to the primary meeting.

If you want to close a specific room, select More options (…) next to the room and then click Close room. Once a breakout room is closed, chat for that session is closed. Participants can’t continue to chat there.

Thanks for your reply. I was already in the breakout room so I had already joined it. And there was no button showing return, only a button showing leave

Select More options   next to the room and then Join room.

To leave a room, select Return.
