Microsoft Teams - Lost work

I have had some lost work in Microsoft Teams from some students in my class. The issue seems to be when the work is handed in, then returned with some notes for improvement. When the student makes changes after it was returned, and then clicks the Turn in again button, it works fine. But if they don't click the Turn In Again, and the teacher checks on their progress, it seems to reset the work. Or perhaps the work never saved when they modified what they had submitted.

Is Teams supposed to work this way as a way to prevent changing work after due dates? Or am I encountering some other problem?

Thanks!

Hello Mellow,

Thanks for sharing information via Private message. We had test at our end and found that once student open the excel assignment from Teams app and edit the assignment (without clicking the Turn in again button), all updated changes are auto saved in assignment and Teacher can view the latest update assignments from the assignment tab. Once students enable “Turn in” option , that assignment workbook file (such as Excel file) was opened in read-only mode and students cannot modify the workbook. In short without Turn in option, if students make any changes in assignment, the same will reflect from teacher’s assignment view, so we would like to suggest you to observe if the issue reproduced or not, if issue persist we recommend you to use Teams Online app and check the result.

Thanks and regards,
