I installed the app on my laptop, but upon sign-in the app launches but it is locked. I can't use it. Please see attached screenshot. The activation link "sent to my email" actually never GOT there.

Ok, you can contact the Microsoft support from the app directly if Teams do not appear on the Chat option you can choose Outlook because your issue is related to it too.

If the recommendation is not working you can choose No until a talk with a person appears.

I checked all folders, yes. Nowhere to be found. I signed in with my Outlook email, my official Microsoft account.
I didn't try anything different, no.
Yes, this is the free version.
I watched a webinar in the morning, it was impossible to log-in myself, and hopefully the hosts sent me an alternative link to join the team.
But then, upon checking and trying to log-in again - no way!
