Overtype

Question

Hello!

I have been using Microsoft TEAMS for about a month now and either I haven’t noticed it (very unlikely) or TEAMS just updated to overtype text. So hence if I miss a word and need to go add it, then I need to retype everything. I have tried everything to figure out how to turn this off and can't find a solution. Does anyone know how to fix this? There is no FILE button to select and don’t see anything in the options for text.

I FIGURED OUT A SOLUTION! This worked for me on my HP Laptop (that doesn't have an ins key - yes, I checked everywhere). With Teams, or whatever application that's having the issue open, open your computer's settings and go through the following.

• Type in "On-Screen Keyboard".
• Turn this feature on momentarily.
• Proceed to the desired text you wish to edit, and tap the insert key that's on the screen.
• You should see the cursor (|) toggle on and off. Tap "ins" until you see it sitting steady.
• BOOM! Problem fixed.

No thanks to ALLLLLL the forums I read through for 20 minutes just to think up this solution on my own.

I have the same issue. "Insert" does not turn off Overtype. The process Microsoft published for enabling INSERT control of Overtype is invalid - "File" menu does not exist.

I have the same problem, this is driving me mad. Overtype keeps getting enabled somehow in Teams. When I edit an entry in chat. Happens all the time. I am not using the insert button.

Hey , I have facing the same issue in Teams.

see , I can't change/ correct what i have typed it will erase and replaced rest of the words/ letters in my sentence. So annoying
