Teams not executing Powerapp Launch Function. Only in Teams.

I am using Microsoft Teams to view a PowerApp. The app, only running inside of Teams, will not do the Launch Function.  So it will not launch any link.  Every where else the launch function works.  I reinstalled Teams and it worked briefly, but then messed up again the next day.  All other methods of viewing powerapp work fine.   I even tried just making a button for Launch("https://www.google.com") and that does not work inside teams.

    No luck.

    Still not launching any thing from the powerapp running inside of teams desktop.

     What is don't understand is why it just messed up recently with no update to the powerapp.  And it messed up multiple users.  I have about 100 users of this powerapp and they are all effected when they try and run it in the Teams desktop.  They can run the powerapp fine in Teams Online, or all other ways to run powerapp except for teams desktop.

    Hi Mark,

    Thanks for your feedback. Since it does a client related issue, I think we may try to clear the cache of the Teams to see if it can helps.

    To clear MS Teams cache, you could refer to the following ways:

    1)  Fully exit the Microsoft Teams desktop client. To do this, either right click Teams from the Icon Tray and select ‘Quit’, or run Task Manager and fully kill the process.

    1. Go to File Explorer, and type in %appdata%\Microsoft\teams.
    2. Once in the directory, you’ll see a few of the following folders:

     a.  From within ‘Application Cache’, go to Cache and delete any of the files in the Cache location.

        *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\application cache\cache

     b.  From within ‘Blob_storage’, delete any files that are located in here if any.

        *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\blob_storage

     c.  From within ‘Cache’, delete all files.

        *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Cache

     d.  From within ‘databases’, delete all files.

        *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\databases

     e.  From within ‘GPUCache’, delete all files.

        *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\GPUcache

     f.  From within ‘IndexedDB’, delete the .db file.

        *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\IndexedDB

     g.  From within ‘Local Storage’, delete all files.

        *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\Local Storage

     h.  Lastly, from within ‘tmp’, delete any file.

        *   %appdata%\Microsoft\teams\tmp

    Once finally done clearing, you can now restart Teams from your local desktop and all cache will be cleared from the desktop app.

    Hope this can be worked.

    Regards,

    Shawn

    Thank you for your response.  I agree about the client issue.  I have a service ticket into our technical support group.

    I tried the run as administrator and no luck.

    It is almost like there was a policy pushed down to Teams and it went into effect after the install. Is this possible? I say that because, yes, it was working after the reinstall but stopped working after a certain amount of time.

    Hi Mark,

    Based on your description, it seems to be a client related issue since after a reinstall it works again.To determine if it’s a client related issue, we may first sign in your account on Teams web app to see if the Powerapp works fine.

    At the same time, update your Teams client to the latest version to see if it repair this issue. To update your client, just click the profile > check for updates. The latest version is 1.2.00.21068 (64-bit) and it was last updated on 8/9/19.

    Then try to start Teams as administrator to see if it help. We can click Start and enter Teams, right click the icon when it appears, and select Ran as administrator.

    Hope these information could help.

    Regards,

    Shawn
