in Teams, we have a group of people who share a file (all day) and everyone can edit/update the information during the day.   It keeps "timing out" - is there a way to stop that?

Hi Leila AG,

Thank you for posting in our forum community. We will highly appreciated your kind cooperation in our forum community.

To understand particular scenario or situation, I’d like to collect or re-confirm below things from your end.

  1. May I please know whether you are using Teams desktop client or Teams web app client?
  2. What kind of operating systems are using for Teams application (i.e. Windows / Mac/ any other)?

If you are using Teams application as desktop client on Windows 10, please kindly try to clear the cache and see if it makes any different result scenario or not.

  • Fully quit Microsoft Teams and ensure it’s not still running in the toolbar at the bottom right of Windows.
  • Navigate to %appdata%/Microsoft/Teams in a File Window.
  • Select everything in the folder.
  • Delete everything.
  • Open Teams and wait for it to download required files.
  1. On the other hand, I’d like to double confirm that if this issue happening via using Teams web app client (https://teams.microsoft.com/) .
  2. Meanwhile, may I please re-confirm if the files or documents are edited or updated from SharePoint side on this affected Teams site, whether this issue has happened from there?

Please kindly feel free to provide us above some requested information or result information to understand particular scenario or situation.

Regards,

Darpan
